About Me

Hello World, I am Liz! I studied International Media and Computing at the University for Applied Sciences Berlin (HTW Berlin), where I am currently in the final phase of finishing up my Master's degree.

During my studies, I quickly noticed my passion for game development, I already gained experience with game development, which I gathered during my education. You can find even more of my previous projects below.

Education and Experience

  • Einstein Gymnasium Neuenhagen

    2014 - 2019
I graduated Highschool with an average of 2.0, and an emphasis on Computer Science and Maths.
  • HTW - Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft

    2019 - 2023
At the University for Applied Sciences Berlin (HTW Berlin), I studied "International Media and Computing" with a specialisation in Game Technology and Interactive Systems. There, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in 2023 with a final grade of 1.6.
    2023-2026
Immediately after the finishing my Bachelor, I've continued my education with a Master's degree, once again in the same field of study, and the same focus on game development.
Currently, I am in the final phase of finishing up my Master's degree. I've already completed my thesis, and am noe only waiting for my final colloquium, which should be within the next few months.
  • Distant Beacon

    October 2022 - February 2023
As part of my studies, I had the opportunity to go abroad for one semester to participate in an international internship.
Distant Beacon is software company located in Oulu, Finland, which specializes in game development. While they also offer contracting work for web and software development, as well as audio engineering, I was exclusively part of the game programming team, working on their yet unannounced project. There, I not only learned about the work distribution within a team common for the industry, I also deepened my knowledge and practice with Unity Game Programming.
  • JuHu Berlin - Junge Humanisten*innen Berlin

    since 2021
JuHu is a humanistic youth association, which organizes a variety of summer camps, workshops or demonstrations, with an emphasis on equality and diversity. (e.g. disability rights, lgbtq+ support, anti-racism, anti-sexism).
After having been a participant in these summer camps for many years myself, I started working here in 2021 on a voluntary basis, to help with organizing and leading some of these camps and workshops.
Since 2023, I’ve also taken over responsibilities as a team leader for their annual international exchange camp, which in the past had been in cooperation with youth groups from Finland, Belgium, Iceland, and the Ukraine. Among the tasks I complete as a team leader is organisation and planning before and after the camp, writing of financing applications to EU youth exchanges programs, managing finances on the camp for food, materials, accommodations, etc., as well as leading the team’s meetings and work distributions.
